Dr RainvilleDr Harvey Rainville is the Medical Director of the program. He is a board certified General and Bariatric surgeon. Originally from Dallas Texas, he completed his undergraduate education at Baylor University. He later moved to New York City in 2006, where he completed his General Surgery residency at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine at Montefiore Hospital. Dr Rainville went on to specialize in Robotic and Bariatric Surgery at the University of Texas in Houston. He joined the practice in North Jersey immediately upon completion of his training. Dr Rainville has been a pioneer of Robotic and Bariatric Surgery since he started practice in 2013. As of today Dr Rainville has performed the most Robotic Bariatric surgeries in the entire state of New Jersey and continues to pursue the latest in advanced surgical techniques. |

Dr. GohilDr. Kartik Gohil was raised in Baroda, India. After completing his high school in top 1 percentile of his class, he proceeded to complete his medical training at esteemed Baroda Medical College at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He graduated top of his class. Then he moved to United States and completed his General Surgery Residency at Michigan State University, Lansing. From there he pursued specialty training in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Stony Brook University Medical Center, Stony Brook. Dr. Gohil has also completed training in Robotic Surgeries. He uses these techniques to perform complex surgical procedures. |

Dr. BallemDr. Ballem completed his General Surgery residency in New York City, and then pursued specialty training at The Cleveland Clinic in both Endocrine & Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery. He also served as a Clinical Instructor at the Cleveland Clinic’s Medical School (The Lerner School of Medicine). He continued to pursue his interests in advanced laparoscopy and academics as a fellow at The University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center. He has extensively researched, published, and presented at conferences both at a national and international level. Dr. Ballem is an active member of the ASMBS (American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery). He serves on the clinical consensus committee and has collaboratively published national guidelines for Bariatric Surgery. He has also built a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence for Clara Mass Medical Center (RWJ-Barnabas facility), which since inception has achieved ASMBS “Center of Excellence” status based on patient safety, staff education and patient outcomes. Dr. Ballem also serves as Director of Bariatric Surgery for Hunterdon Medical Center. |

Monika Mahajan, Registered DieticianMonika Mahajan is a licensed Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist for the weight loss program. She counsels patients about how to make the right food choices, helps them change behaviors and provides ongoing support to lose weight and be healthy. She has been practicing wellness for the last 18 years with a background in Nutrition, Dietetics, Homeopathic Medicine and Reiki. |
